This modern building with many unique finishes was constructed on the existing high school site to incorporate the Year 7 intake for 2015.
Encompassing two stories, the facility includes 8 new GLA’s, music rooms, a science laboratory, and associated external landscaped areas, including courtyard with integral seating for external learning.
The construction comprises an in-situ concrete frame and suspended slab with upper structural steel roof framing, Colorbond clad roof, facebrick external envelope with accents of alucobond cladding, external tiling, and decorative screenwood timber panels.
Internally sees the building split into differing ‘colour’ zones, with operable walls between GLA’s and clever built-in joinery teaching walls providing the accents. The feature tiling and screenwood timber panels continue through to the interior of the building, including decorative slotted Atkar ceiling panels providing a unique industrial look with aspects of exposed mechanical services and suspended lighting, but also with excellent acoustic properties.
