Smith Constructions begun the development of the Eastern Precinct of Centennial Park with extensive site works to allow for the construction of a new Football Stadium featuring new function facilities, grandstand and change room block to AFL standard. Central to the project is creating multi-purpose spaces within the sporting complex to promote social inclusion and use by the greater community.
The function block will incorporate a commercial kitchen, bar, kiosk, 3 cool rooms, function area and multiple office and meeting areas while the detached Change Room Block provides spacious areas to incorporate change rooms, ablutions, property rooms, first aid rooms, umpires rooms all nestled behind a tiered viewing platform.
The facility is built using a complex and integrate mix of insitu poured class 2 concrete walls, crème concrete tilt panels and different types of block walls. The colorbond roof was site milled to achieve its curved finish with sheets 36 metres in length. The internal fitout is of a high specification using only high end materials to deliver an architecturally pleasing aesthetic.
